Hello everyone! We’re only a few days away! We are so excited to see everyone and thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule and lives to come to Florida or travel across the state for our wedding. It means the world! We’ve been very fortunate that hurricane Helene has not impacted our wedding plans. For so many it’s impacted their lives in devastating ways, so we’re feeling pretty blessed. We certainly have many people we know in our thoughts and prayers during this time. So with this abnormally late hurricane season we do have some storms out south pushing some rain into the weekend. (We’ll take rain over another hurricane) so make sure you pack an umbrella. Everything is covered or Indoors, it’s just for your comfort. Despite everything we are focusing on happier times and excited and ready to party with all of you! We’re so excited, we hope you are too! We will see you soon! ❤️ Amanda and Jason

Wedding weekend schedule

Amanda and Jason matched on a dating app in the spring of 2022. They had their first facetime date where they broke all the first date rules asking every taboo question imaginable. After their first meeting via facetime, Jason asked Amanda out to dinner in Tampa. They went to a Lebanese restaurant in Tampa called Byblos where they shared chicken shawarma and baba ghanoush.

Tampa International Airport

Sarasota International is a smaller airport and could be another option for some people. SRQ is about 60 minutes from the city of Tampa. We included SRQ because most locals do consider Sarasota as part of "Tampa Bay". With that said, we know this airport may be suggested upon a google search. However, we highly recommend and encourage you to book your travel through Tampa International Airport.

Accommodations 

We did not get hotel blocks knowing we have many guests with different budgets and needs. Instead we are sharing a list of hotels in the area.   Hyatt house Tampa Ybor,  Hotel Flor Ybor,  Courtyard by Marriot Ybor,  Aloft Tampa Downtown,  Hilton Tampa Downtown,   Embassy Suites Downtown Convention Center,  Tampa Marriot Water Street,  JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Le Meridien Tampa Ybor,   The Westin Tampa Waterside.  Hampton inn by Hilton Tampa downtown Channel District.    Lastly, we recommend Airbnb and any other vacation home rentals within the downtown and surrounding areas.

Travel

Q + A

Armature Works is a family friendly, indoor/ outdoor space to enjoy food with a water-front view. They often have live music and fun weekend activities. In the past they have had carnivals, concerts, movie on the lawn, boat shows, and yoga to name a few. Be sure to check out their schedule online. There are 3 bars on site and really great restaurants. This spot is very busy on the weekends, so we recommend making reservations at the dine in restaurants beforehand. Our personal favorite food spots are Hemingway's Cuban cuisine(grab-and-go), Oak and Ola (dine-in), Steelback (dine-in), Graze 1910 (grab-and-go), and of course Astro craft ice cream, and Jenny's ice cream across the street (Amanda's favorite flavor is brambleberry). Parking is available via APP.

Armature Works

Sparkman Wharf is an industrial style hang-out area in the Water Street district. Mostly known for highlighting refurbished shipping containers turned into stationary food trucks. They often have live music near the beer garden in the center of the space. This is a fun spot for locals to enjoy lighting hockey games during the season. Splittsville bowling is also here if you are looking for family activities. There are many restaurants in the area surounding Sparkman Wharf and shopping.

Sparkman Wharf

Hyde Park village is a quaint little shopping center in the heart of Historic Hyde Park. Amanda used to live just walking distance from Hyde Park. Jason and Amanda have spent many days dinning in restaurants, going on morning walks, and sitting by the fountain. Jason's favorite restaurant here is On Swann (He recommends the Pork Chop) Amanda's favorite restaurant is Green Lemon (she recommends the pork belly taco or bowl paired with a margarita. Best Margs in town if you ask her).

Hyde Park Village

This stunning European inspired space is a restaurant, bookstore, coffee, tea, and decor shop all in one. This showstopper of a location makes a great spot for brunch or an afternoon lunch. Reservations are required to dine here and are often fully booked weeks in advance, particularly on weekends. Be sure to reserve sooner rather than later if Oxford Exchange is on your must-see list. The food is delicious, but you can always just visit and stop in for coffee or Tea Bella tea, enjoy the view and of course take pictures. P.S. parking can be difficult. We recommend showing up early for reservations. There is blocked off Oxford Exchange parking, but you will have to pay for it. Last rates seen was around $10. Meter street parking is also available.

Oxford Exchange

The Tampa River Walk spans across the city of Tampa. It is several miles long and is usually bustling with people walking, biking, jogging, scooting along the river. You will cross many parks, museums, and bars along the way. You can take the river boats across the river and even rent paddle boards. There is also a pick off and drop off boat ride from Tampa to St. Petersburg along the river.
