Amanda and Frank met during their freshman year of college during an ultimate frisbee game. They had most of the same classes, quickly began a friendship, and became study buddies. During one of their study sessions in the library, Amanda wrote on an index card Will you go on a date with me? p.s. Ill share my smarties with you. She slid it across the table with a pack of the candy. Frank said “yes.” At the time, they were young and did not end up dating, though their friendship continued to grow. Little did they know at the time, their first date would happen 14 years later.
In their friendship, they helped each other through several classes. Amanda gave Frank her favorite pen to help him in organic chemistry, and Frank helped Amanda with plant biology.
After college, they saw each other at least once a year and enjoyed going out for sushi and catching up on life. When Amanda returned to New Jersey after medical school, they reunited over pancakes in Jersey City on the pier named after her step-grandfather.
Finally, on April 11, 2023, they went out for their yearly sushi dinner and this time, something was different. They laughed, flirted, and ended the evening questioning whether they had just been on a date - a fantastic date...the best first date ever. It didnt take long for them to realize that what they had been searching for in a partner was right in front of them, and they were finally ready to take the next step in their relationship.
During their relationship, they’ve enjoyed going to many concerts and live music shows from The Rolling Stones, to Ellie Goulding backed by a philharmonic orchestra, to Bach to the Beatles. They’ve loved traveling together to Aruba, Mexico, Yosemite, Texas, and Shenandoah, to name a few.
In June 2024, Frank moved with Amanda to Bethesda, MD for her work and they began a new phase of their life together. Already parents to their 2 cats, Nina and Westy, they added 4 more paws to their family in Sept 2024 with the adoption of their dog, Jack.
On December 7, 2024 (Amandas birthday), Frank planned the most thoughtful proposal to Amanda in front of their families. Inside a hand-painted wooden box with depictions of their life together was an index card that read Will you marry me? p.s. Ill share my smarties with you. He wrote this with the pen she lent him for organic chemistry all those years ago. He not only presented her with a ring, but also with the candy. After saying yes, they were rushed with love and support from their families. It was a perfect day.
On Valentines Day 2025, they were handed the keys to their first home together. They would love to welcome any visitors to their home!
They are having so much fun planning their wedding and cant wait to celebrate with you!!
