Amara and Jose met the modern way: by swiping right on Tinder in 2019. Their first date was over lunch in Corpus Christi during school break and the rest is history!

Amara and Jose spent the first few years of their relationship in Texas before moving to Kansas in 2022. The couple enjoys going to coffee shops, markets, and city events. The couple spends their time learning new recipes, training for 5ks, and exploring Kansas City.

In 2023, Jose proposed to Amara after graduating from academy by visiting the Old Red Bridge in Kansas City known for adding locks. Jose wrote a message on the lock proposing to Amara. Needless to say, Amara said yes!
