Lucas and Amber 

Ninja Sushi Steakhouse was our first date followed by some rolled icecream where Lucas (accidentally) flung ice cream on Amber and this sparked a fun-loving relationship. After a few weeks of dating, Lucas met Natalie and Logan and they bonded almost immediately.&nbsp; Lucas has stepped up and is involved in all aspects of the kids' lives, from church groups,&nbsp; to school work to wrestling practice and tournaments.&nbsp; As a family, we enjoy spending time together on a lake,&nbsp; playing tag, kicking a soccer ball around, or playing board games. 
This past September, Lucas proposed to Amber, and with the kids cheering in the background she said YES! We are so excited that each of you are present in our lives and are here to encourage and lift us up as we continue to grow as a family.

Buffalo Dunes Golf Course is ranked as the No. 1 municipally-owned golf course in Kansas by Golf Digest magazine. It has been recognized by Golf Magazine and Travel & Leisure Magazine as places to play and best bangs for the buck.
Challenging, enjoyable and affordable, Buffalo Dunes will give you a little bit of Scottish feel as it is nestled among the historic sand hills six miles south of Garden City. Southwest Kansas offers a 4-season climate and golf can be played throughout the year, weather permitting.
Opened in 1976 on land donated by E.C. Brookover Sr., Buffalo Dunes is one of the host courses to the prestigious Southwest Kansas Pro-Am every August. Among the golfing greats who have walked the fairways of the Dunes are U.S. Open champions Steve Jones and Lee Janzen, British Open champions Tom Weiskopf and Stewart Cink.
Beautifully conditioned, the Dunes has bluegrass fairways, well-maintained bentgrass greens and native grasses that challenges the golfer and provides a memorable experience.
The course can play at differing lengths based upon a player’s skill level, with yardages from 5,452 to the championship tees of 6,806 yards. Buffalo Dunes has played host to numerous Kansas Golf Association state championships through the years as well as hosting high school regional and state tournaments.

Escape The Clock

There’s a reason for the name at Southwind Country Club. The course was opened in 1980 with one over-riding factor in mind. In southwest Kansas the wind blows from the south often and hard. Taking that into account, the course was laid out in the rolling sand hills south of Garden City to take advantage of that. It worked!
First-time players to the course are amazed at how demanding it is, especially if the wind is blowing. At first glance, people think the 6,921-yard course will be easy because of the obvious lack of trees along the fairway.
What they don’t know, until they’ve toured the beautiful 18-hole layout, is that the rough is so thick an errant shot means almost certain disaster. But, the fairways are unusually wide and the course can be tamed.
Southwind has become a favorite among touring golf professionals. Every year it is one of the two sites for the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am golf tournament, which is one of the largest professional events in Kansas with a purse exceeding $80,000.00. (The other site of the Pro-Am is Buffalo Dunes.)
Both tour veterans and newcomers flock to the course each year to chase that purse and always swear to return. What they find is a course that requires a firm grasp of golfing fundamentals. The course has plenty of water and sand hazards. The aforementioned rough – known locally as the “gunge” – consists of a little bit of every natural growing plant along with bent grass that has crept over from the fairways. It can be menacing.
Talk to the locals and they’ll quickly point out that the back nine is the toughest. Specifically the 14th, 15h, and 17th holes are considered to be the most demanding on the course.
Southwind remains a constant destination course for the Kansas Golf Association and Kansas Junior Golf Association. The club hosts KGA events each year, and its premiere event the Kansas Amateur every 6- 7 years.

Lee Richardson Zoo sits on 50 beautiful acres, and is truly the jewel of Garden City. Here you can enjoy lush landscapes, lovely walking and driving paths, playgrounds, picnic areas, and of course, hundreds of exotic and local species of animals. The Lee Richardson Zoo’s mission is to inspire the conservation of wildlife and wild places. This mission is actively achieved by their support of conservation projects both in the wild and on grounds, as well as cooperative management with other AZA facilities of the world’s most rare and endangered species.
Additionally, the Zoo’s Education Division provides a variety of on and off-site programs which include distance learning, zoo mobiles, camps, classroom presentations, and special events to help inspire and share a passion for wildlife.

Our water temperature hovers around 84 degrees all of the time. How cool is that?

Things to Do

Peter has been the groom's best friend since they were freshmen in high school and they were inseparable during those years. Since then, Lucas and Peter have traveled to see several Royals, Jayhawks, and Chiefs games. The two continued to hang out as much as possible whenever life allows.  Peter lives in Kansas City, Kansas and does computer software programming.

Ben and the groom have been good friends since Freshman year. Lucas and Ben played high school soccer together and basketball freshman and sophomore year. Ben lives in Kansas City, MO. He is a 7th grade English teacher.

The Groom and Kyle worked together at Pride Ag resources in Jetmore and became good friends. Kyle lives in Jetmore KS and still works at pride ag. Kyle and his wife JoBeth just got married in April.

Kyle Hayes

Logan is the son of the Bride. Logan had the sweetest heart and is always willing to help out whenever and how ever possible. He is intelligent and loves to play strategy based games, investigate how things work and create things for the robotics team. He is a competitive wrestler, a cub scout earning his Arrow of Light, and an excellent student. 
Logan and Lucas have become very close and Lucas is so excited to have a son.  They enjoy fishing together, cheering on the Chief's, and driving Amber crazy with the endless fart jokes, pranks, and boy- shenanigans.

Micki is the bride's younger sister. Amber and Micki grew up tougher as typical sisters, playing sports together, fighting over clothes, and supporting each other through the growing pains of life.

Crystal and the bride were roommates in college. Crystal and Amber ended up in the same class freshman year and became instant best friends! They spent many long hours together in study sessions and many late nights together out on the town. Years later, these girls still rely on each for fun and for wisdom.

Chelsea and the bride teach together in Garden City. In 2003, on the first day of "new teacher inservice" these two girls sat nervously in a conference room together, trying to absorb as much new information as possible, all while trying to navigate relocating to a new state. Chelsea and Amber can often be found chatting in the halls of the school (on their plan period, of course), causing ruckus during staff meetings (we've been separated by the principal), helping out at kid functions (like the one time we ended up "coaching" t-ball on accident), and wine tasting on school snow-days.

Natalie is the daughter of the bride. She has a beautiful smile that can light up any room and rocks her independence. She loves fiercely, cares for all of God's living creatures and lives fearlessly. Natalie enjoys playing with her dolls, collecting rocks, and playing with her friends. She loves her lyrical and jazz dance classes and is very competitive in wrestling. 
Natalie definitely has Lucas wrapped around her finger but he doesn't mind as she wants to be just like him.  They enjoy endless tickle fights, rooting for the Jayhawks, and sneaking chocolate syrup from the fridge while Amber cooks dinner.

We know that weddings are fast paced and a bit chaotic we but don't want to miss out on socializing with you! We will be at Barron's (in the Clarion) Friday evening if anyone wants to come by to chat and hang out! We will be there after the rehersal (probably around 8:30pm) so come as you're ready.

The Newlyweds will be staying at the Clarion and have organized a Send- Off Brunch! Join us from 8 to 11am before heading out for the rest of your holiday weekend plans.
