Our Story

Nathan's side

We met in March 2019 after talking a little through Match. From there, I clearly became a destructive force in her life. Amber wrecked her car on Easter weekend (luckily resulting in nothing more than bumps and bruises), then injured her knee that August right before a flying trip, but somehow she still decided to fall in love with me.

Seriously, though, through the ups and downs I saw Amber give 200% to whatever she put her mind in doing, be it her job as a nurse or be it doing 3-a-days (!!!) at 9Round. Most importantly, though, I saw Christ's light shine through Amber in all of the above as well as her involvement in her church, be it through missions or through youth/college mentorship.

Amber's side

Well, I remember seeing this cute guy on Match and liking his profile. After talking for a couple days he called me and then asked me out. We went to a little Italian Place, despite my no sugar no flour diet (what can I say he asked if I liked Italian and I panicked...I didn't want him to think I was that weird yet!).

After Dating for a couple of weeks, I totaled my car which totally freaked me out. He was so sweet through my entire freak out. I remember thinking huh this guy is totally different, he still wants to date me despite my crazy! One well timed date to chuck e cheese with the bonus fam and I was starting to fall for this guy. I saw how patient he was, how godly he was, and how he just wanted to see my life for what it is. He liked me for me. I remember being in London with my family and I couldn't think about anything but Nathan and what he was up to or what it would be like if he was with us on vacation.

I continued to see how amazing this man was through the summer, but nothing compares to how amazing he was in August. He was supposed to come get me to go flying August 17th, I said hey I have a mud run that morning and then come get me around lunch after it. Well a grossly misjudged stack of hay bales and a missed landing ruined those plans. I was headed to the ER with a dislocated knee. He came right down and met me in the ER, stood there holding my hand while I was in a lot of pain. We had no idea that was going to be a 6 plus month ordeal. He came down to see me several times a week for months, I couldn't drive but he still came down over and over. I don't know how you could help but fall in love with this sweet guy! He was there for my surgery, he was there for the whole thing.

Fast forward to April when he tells me when need to celebrate getting the new house. I get to the new house and he has the place all decorated and I see a ring box on the table. He said some sweet things...I think I blacked out a little, because the part I remember was the "Will you marry me?" Of course, I want to marry my best friend, the man I love. He's the best person I know and I can't wait to spend my life with him.
