Scott and Amber met on the shotgun range, where Scott was working part-time for fun. If you ask Scott, he would say he noticed Amber could use a few pointers while shooting skeet to improve her accuracy. Amber would say her shot was perfect and needed no improvement! Over the next couple of months, Amber noticed Scott wasn't at the range anymore. She asked an employee where he was, and that's when she found out Scott had been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and undergoing treatment. Amber would follow Scotts's journey after that and check in for support over the next several months.
In the summer of 2021, Scott had just had his final procedure and was on his road to remission. He decided to reach out to Amber, thank her for her support (and the fantastic pumpkin cheesecake) and, let's be honest, “shoot his shot!" I think Amber knew Scott was the one when her daughter Parker instantly gravitated to him. Between the blue cancer ribbon, she made him, the fun games they would play, and the infamous nickname "Cowboy," it was apparent that God intentionally placed them in each other's lives.
Over the course of that year, Scott and Amber loved making memories with their family of three. Moving in together, Scott teaching Amber how to hunt (and yes, she wore camo and finally shot her first deer!), Chiefs game in Kansas City while meeting Amber’s family, a road trip to Pennsylvania to meet Scott’s family, and becoming engaged on their first anniversary! They always said they were building their puzzle of love one piece at a time. Little did they know two weeks later, they would no longer be a family of 3.
Scott & Amber found out in July of 2022 they were expecting a baby boy after specialists told them having a baby after Scott’s treatments wouldn’t be likely. They decided to get married in December before Bennett was born in front of their parents and Parker. Bennett was born on March 6th, 2023. Now that their family is complete, Scott and Amber are excited to officially celebrate their marriage in front of their closest friends and family.
