Our Wedding

I'm so happy to share my future with such a lovely woman. She is my best friend and I love her to pieces. I remember a time when Amber had a harp performance at a wedding in Charlevoix. I came along as her harp mover. The wedding was at a beautiful coastal farm on Lake Michigan. Afterwards, we went into Charlevoix, got some drinks and listened to a storytelling guitar player before heading into Traverse City to enjoy ribeye steaks at West End Tavern. I love this memory because it was an example of our beautiful and special life together, and I am so glad to share my dream of many more happy memories to come with her.8 years ago, when I saw Amber step out of the car on that summer afternoon to pick me up from the airport, I knew in that instant that I wanted this woman to be my wife! Since that day, we have grown closer and closer together with every joy, trial and success that we have experienced. I am so thankful to share a tried, tested and true love with my best friend.Over the past years, we have come to realize that we are truly better together. We thank God for all of his blessings and provision in bringing us together and giving us the promise of so much hope for the future!

When I think back on all that God has done to bring Zachary and me together, I am truly amazed and overwhelmed at his love and grace for our lives. I have been given a sweet and wonderful man whom I not only love dearly, but can truly call my heart's best friend. We have laughed together during joyful, carefree days, we have cried together during the challenging times, we have prayed together for strength, for wisdom... and through it all, Jesus has carried us to this wonderfully happy day when we are finally becoming husband and wife.I look forward to all the days to come. The ones when we get to support each other's lives and interests - Zachary coming to my harp performances, me helping him at the ranger station.... The ones when we are overjoyed, and yes, even the ones when we face new obstacles. I say this truthfully because I do not fear facing those obstacles with him by my side. We have been through many before and we have come out on the other side stronger in our faith and in our love for one another. Life is such an incredible journey and I am unspeakably blessed to walk through it side by side with the love of my life.

Our Story

This luxurious Bed &amp; Breakfast is a historic landmark that has served the community since 1840 originally as a stagecoach inn. It is now home to an award winning restaurant as well as full service lodging. They have individual suites available for our wedding weekend. This would be a great spot to check out during your time in Stanardsville even if you don't stay here.This location is an 8 minute drive from the Golden Horseshoe Inn and a 30 minute drive from Brix and Columns.

Lafayette Inn

This quaint and adorable place has individual rooms and mini-cabins available. It is the most centrally located lodging option for both of the events happening on our wedding weekend. It is also just a hop, skip and a jump away from the entrance to Skyline Drive. A real "must see" if you have the time!This location is a 9 minute drive from the Golden Horseshoe Inn and a 16 minute drive from Brix and Columns.

Country View Lodging Motel

Lydia Mountain has rooms available at their lodge as well as individual cabins for rent. All rooms at the lodge have their own semi-private balconies with a spectacular view of the mountains. Many cabins are also situated in locations with a view, but are spread out across the area so I would recommend checking the individual addresses of the cabins. All seem to be pretty close to the wedding venue though! Massanutten Resort

This location is not as close to the wedding venue, but may be a perfect spot for someone needing to stay closer to potential travel routes or airports. There are quite a few nice hotels in the Charlottesville area, this is just one example of what Charlottesville has to offer.This location is a 25 minute drive from the Golden Horseshoe Inn and a 48 minute drive from Brix and Columns.

Lodging

This is a beautiful scenic drive with lots of overlooks of the mountains and the lovely Shenandoah Valley below. There are also many parking areas for trailheads along the drive. This is a wonderful place to go hiking and enjoy the sights of this stunning area. No wonder Zachary loves working here so much!There is an entrance fee to enter the park. However, as a wedding gift to their fellow ranger, they have offered to let Zachary's guests enter the park for free. Just tell us if you would like to go and we will give them your names :)

Skyline Drive 

Luray Caverns is open every day of the year.&nbsp;Self-Guided tours depart immediately and guests are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines.&nbsp;There may be a short wait to enter the caverns as they work through social distancing guidelines.&nbsp;General Admission includes Luray Caverns, the Car &amp; Carriage Caravan Museum, Toy Town Junction, and the Shenandoah Heritage Village.From November 1 to March 31Weekends 9am – 5pmWeekdays 9am – 4pm
