Dress Code
What is the dress code?
Our dress code is Black Tie Formal.
What does Black Tie Formal mean to us?
Our ceremony and reception are both being held in historic Los Angeles locations and we'd like to honor that with our dress. We request you join us in an evening gown, formal suit, or tuxedo. Here's a description of what that looks like to us:

Additional guests
Can we bring children under the age of 18?
No. We love your little ones, but our wedding has been designed as an adults only function. Your invitation will list the number of seats we have reserved in your honor :)
Can I bring a +1?
Sadly, in order to stay on budget, we are not able to accommodate +1's or any additional guests that are not listed on your invitation.
Photography
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
No. Absolutely no outside photography will be allowed during the ceremony. We're shellin' out the big bucks for a fantastic photographer and, to put it bluntly, people holding their phones up to take pictures will ruin the beautiful photos our photography team is being paid to take. We ask that you honor this request and keep your cellphone turned off and put away until you exit the church.
Can I take pictures during the reception?
Yes! Feel free to take as many pictures as you want during the reception!
Parking & Directions
Will there be parking at the ceremony?
Yes, our church has a large lot you are welcome to park in!
What's the best way to get to the venues?
First and foremost, we want everyone to be safe. If you are planning on partaking of the open bar, uber is the best option. If you'd like to drive, there will be on-site parking options available at both venues.
The Reception is in Downtown LA. What's that parking gonna be like?
We'll be honest - parking in DTLA is not fun.
Because of this - we think Uber or Lyft is the best option. The car will drop you off right outside the door and security will be able to let you right on in!
However, if you would prefer to drive, there is paid parking available in the parking garage beneath the building :)
Will the wedding be indoor or outdoor?
Both the Ceremony and Reception will be indoor.
What will the weather be like in LA?
March in LA usually lives in the low 70s during the day and the 50s at night.
Food & Drink
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! We have an amazing bar that will be open from cocktail hour until midnight.
How long will it take to get from the ceremony to the reception?
Traffic is always slightly different, but we estimate it will take around 30 minutes to get from Hollywood United Methodist Church to Alexandria Ballrooms.
What kind of food will be served for dinner?
Our aim is for our wedding to reflect the merging of our cultures, so we'll be having both Texas Southern and Taiwanese cuisine. While wait staff will be helping out with drinks and anything additional you may need, dinner will be served buffet style so you have the opportunity to try both cuisines! Check out our Menu tab to learn more about what to look forward to!
I have a special diet and/or a food allergy. Will there be something for me to eat?
Absolutely! You are invited to our wedding because we love you! My (Amber) worst nightmare is going to a function, starving, and realizing I can't eat anything being served. If you have a dietary restriction, please let us know by denoting this on your RSVP. We will make sure we have options for you!
Do you have a question we haven't covered here?
Feel free to ask! You can shoot a text to Amber any time or, if you're reading this the day of the wedding, one of the bride's mothers.
