Amber recently graduated from MSU's accelerated nursing program in August after completing her first undergraduate degree at CMU. Between wedding planning and nursing school, it has been a busy, but exciting, past year. She is looking forward to settling into a new job and enjoying married life.
Jordan is the director of religious education at St. Mary's parish in Westphalia. He graduated from MSU in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in communication, and was president of the waterski team. He is currently obtaining his master's degree in theology through the Franciscan University of Steubenville's online program.
Jordan and I both attended Pewamo-Westphalia high school. Jordan was one grade above me, but our paths never crossed even in the single hallway of PW. Looking back, we both agree that we never would've thought we'd end up marrying each other-but we sure are thankful for God's surprises! It took until college for us to talk at our friends' wedding. Being our ever so sassy selves even early on, we started (jokingly) debating about which is the better town: Pewamo or Westphalia. Despite having our first disagreement even before we were dating, we hit it off, and Jordan ended up buying me a drink (at Kramers in Pewamo might I add). Later that night, he asked me to dance, and we've been talking ever since, which ended our streak of silence throughout high school.
We had been dating for just over a year and a half when Jordan planned a date night to go wine tasting. I must admit, I was suspicious. The day of, I was of course running late (like usual according to Jordan) and asked if we could push back the time by half an hour. Jordan later told me this was pure torture as he had bigger plans in mind. We drove by St. Mary's, and Jordan said we should stop in for adoration (Westphalia had quickly ranked up there with Pewamo at this point, Jordan swayed me). Afterward, he took me to the rosary garden where he had roses waiting for me in front of the Mary statue. He got down on one knee and said a lot of nice things that I honestly had to have him repeat back to me a few minutes after it had happened because I couldn't comprehend a word he said due to my excitement! Needless to say, we did not make it to the wine tasting that Jordan had actually made up, and we spent the rest of the night calling and visiting family and friends to share our good news.
We are so blessed to have one other, and we could not be more happy to be joined in marriage on October 14, 2017! Thank you for joining us on our wedding day, we look forward to celebrating with you!
