Take it back to the high school days. The year is 2012. I (Amber) was a senior, Sam, a junior. We both sign up to play a game of squirt gun tag, called Assassin, where the goal is to eliminate your partner by squirting them off school property. I was assigned (by group organizer, Liv Carlini) to go after Sam in the last few months of the school year. Somehow, chasing him around the Burkett baseball fields with a super soaker would lead to the start of your classic high school crush.

Sam thought he was sneaky about his crush on me. But he'd started to make any excuse to see me. He'd wait for me at my locker during school days, drive his minivan to my parents' house to chat in the driveway for a few minutes, visit me while I worked my closing shifts at American Eagle. He even dropped off flowers for my 18th birthday (all the while I had a boyfriend, but Sam knew what he wanted).
