Robert and Amber met when they were kids through mutual friends. They stayed friends through the years, and reconnected at a joint celebration for Robert and Mckenna’s birthday. Mckenna, being who she is, decided to play matchmaker and ensure they spent the whole evening together getting to know one another (again) as adults. A few months passed and Mckenna, again playing matchmaker, invited both Robert and Amber, separately, on their annual friends camping trip. They both jumped at the opportunity to spend the weekend at the lake. It turned out that this camping trip was the beginning of forever. Once again Robert and Amber fell into easy conversation, and enjoyed the weekend together with friends. After the trip ended, they continued talking and went on their first date in August 2020. This date led to many more dates, trips and memories together. Robert asked Amber to marry him on Tillicum Beach in May 2023. He caught her so off guard that she blacked out, missed the proposal, panicked and knocked his entire drink out of his hand and could not stop crying. While they were walking back to the campground, Amber realized she had no memory of the proposal and asked Robert if he would ask her again. He got down on one knee right there, and it was the easiest and fastest “YES” of her life.
