Amber and Christopher met on a blind date in January 2019 set up by Amber's youngest sister, Brittani. The date itself was at Millhome Supper Club in Kiel for dancing and drinks at a friends wedding reception.

There was a bit of nervousness before meeting as this was the first blind date for either of them. Amber remembers almost calling the date off due to being so anxious! Chris remembers running to the bar as soon as she arrived to get coffee thinking he could play that off.

All of the nervousness and anxiety melted away though as soon as Chris took Amber's hands in his to warm them up from the cold. And as cliche as it may seem, Chris lost all that when later in the night he locked eyes with Amber, getting a feeling he's never had. The night was filled with great conversation, many laughs, and a kiss on the forehead because the coffee didn't take effect.

Over the next few months, as Chris and Amber got to know each other better, stories from the past were found to coincided with one another. Each was in the background of the stories being told, but never really meeting in the moment over the years.

Just months before meeting, Chris was able to buy a house that was once his great-great grandfather's saloon and grocery store. An unbelievable dream come true is the only way to describe the feeling, but it still seemed to be a house. It wasn't until Amber, Madison, and Aiden started to come over more, eventually moving in, picking who got which room and the colors to paint them, did Chris know it had become a home.
