It all began at Tom Sawyer Park, on a Sunday afternoon. Ambers Family had began playing on a COED softball team to spend quality time together. The team consisted of family members and a few friends that would become family, Codey being one of those friends. Amber had never played and was obviously not game ready and Codey knew the game and always came prepared. Amber showed up with no glove to use and she was playing the outfield. She thought her dad would have everything she needed for the game. Little did they know he had more than what she needed for that game, he had brought the person she needed for life. She searched through her dads softball bag for a glove, with no luck. She asked if anyone had an extra and thats when Codey spoke up and offered his glove. A white glove with Kimball embroidered on the thumb. Every Sunday after that he had the glove hanging on the fences ready for her to use.
Sunday softball turned into team dinners after games. Team dinners turned into family cookouts. Spending this time together built a friendship. That friendship helped Amber decide to grow her faith and she started going to church on Sundays where there was always an empty seat next to Codey, his mom and grandma. Their families grew closer and the love grew stronger.
On December 6th, 2022 Codey asked Amber to be his girlfriend. They started their life as a couple, taking on the world. They became inseparable, a package deal. They traveled all over the place, of course mostly for softball tournaments. They got their fur baby Milo. They bought a house. They hosted several family gatherings. They got engaged and started planning the next chapter of their lives.
Little did they know it would all start with a sport that Codey loves and the glove she needed. That Kimball embroidered on the thumb would soon become the last name they will share forever and always.
