What airport to fly out/in?

As for Illinois/Wisconsin residents you'll be flying out of O'hare - ORD You'll be flying into Maui Kahului Airport- OGG

Do we have a room block at Royal Lahaina Resort?

No. With everyone having their own budget we encourage you to stay at whatever resort you prefer. If you want to be close to the Venue, I suggest staying anywhere near/on Kaanapali Beach. Again, you can book with any hotel you choose.

Is Royal Lahaina Resort right on the Ocean?

Of course. It's right on Kaanapali Beach.

How long is the flight?

9 hours direct flying out of O'hare. The time will vary depending on where you are flying out of and if you have a connecting flight. It can be challenging to find a direct flight to Maui, but it does exist depending on what day you flight out. We usually fly direct there and red eye w/connecting flight home. The time of day you fly out is totally up to you-- we suggest booking an early flight out to have a full day and then booking a late flight home, again to give you another full day so you are not wasting your last day packing up and sitting in an airport. IF you need to book a connecting flight --ensure the connecting duration is not too long- Otherwise you will not be too thrilled when you're sitting in the airport for 3 hours hating your life. Typically 45-60 min is the perfect amount of time to get off the plane and stretch out the legs while you reflect on how amazing the trip was and why you didn't book it for longer.

Suits and ties are rarely worn here. Bring some casual dress clothes or resort wear if you plan on experiencing Maui’s nightlife. Also, if you plan to hike through waterfalls, I highly suggest ordering a pair of comfortable water shoes ahead of time to bring with. We found ours on Amazon and they are a game changer for hiking in the water. Find the ones with the highest reviews-- those are likely the ones we have.

The sea temperature is suitable for swimming year-round as well, with average temperatures between 75 and 79 degrees. The one exception to the "comfortably warm" rule is the summit of Haleakala.
