Amber’s ‘how we met' story is far more interesting than Joe’s.
Amber and her friends always went to the same Thursday afternoon meeting. Joe also went to that meeting. He never noticed Amber, but Amber and her friends noticed Joe every time he walked in. Her friends would tease Amber saying, very loudly, things like “there’s your boyfriend” or “there’s your future husband” even though they had never even made eye contact. They just thought he was her type I suppose.
A totally unrelated friend of Amber’s gave her Joe’s phone number (not knowing the coincidence) and said “text him, he’s really cool”. So on a Wednesday night Amber texted Joe and they talked for a bit.
It’s now Thursday and time for the girls to go to the weekly afternoon meeting. Amber texted Joe that she would text him after this meeting and he responded “I think you are sitting in front of me.” Because the meeting is set up auditorium style Amber didn’t want to turn around and be obvious so she tasked her friends with the job to check him out. They, not very discreetly, turned to look and said “It’s the ‘future husband’ guy!”.
Almost eight years later, with a seven year old son and a proposal, Joe will be her ‘Future Husband’. After dating for a bit Amber asked Joe if he ever noticed the annoying group of loud girls talking about him and he said he had no idea.
His story probably goes something like… This girl texted me and we ran into each other at a meeting, I asked her out on a lunch date and that was that.
