HOW WE MET


Josh and I met on hinge shortly after his first deployment! There was definitely chemistry through the phone, but when we met for the first time there was an instant feeling of peace and warmth when he hugged me. From that moment, I knew I wanted to marry him one day. We quickly found it hard to be away from each other so every weekend we would find new things to do and when Josh went off to OCS, we anxiously awaited letters from one another. Over time, we fell more and more in love with each other. Not only did Josh fall in love with me, but he also fell in love with my children and my children fell in love with him. Since the day I met Josh, I knew I never wanted to spend another day without him. Now, he gets to become my husband, and I get to become his wife. We couldn’t be happier to start our lives together and to have you all be apart of our story!







THE PROPOSAL

Josh was stationed in Oklahoma at the time and I was dying to see him so I booked a flight to see him for my birthday. Josh informed me four days before I left that we would be taking photos for my birthday present (I had been bugging him about this for a while). In a panic, I found the right dress and flew to Oklahoma. We woke up that morning and ate breakfast. The one thing I told Josh I wanted to do that day was have some champagne and relax so we went to grab some champagne, of course I go for my usual bottle, but Josh says we should splurge this time because it’s my birthday. A few hours later we are off to take pictures. Josh and I were laughing and being equally as awkward while the photographer kept posing us. The photographer then said we are going to try this pose, “Amber turn around and Josh is going to come grab you from behind and spin you around.” I thought it was taking a while for him to grab me then she told me to turn around and Josh was down on one knee asking me to be his wife. I was in complete shock, I even told him to “shut up” because I did not think this was real life. After I said yes, he popped out that bottle of champagne we got earlier and we got to celebrate!
