Our Story
How we met
Sam and Amber met during a party at the Grand (Sam’s college house) where Amber asked Sam for his snapchat. The next week they went on a date to Brothers Coffee. Sam made things ‘official’ on November 17th, 2021, about a month after they met.
Graduation
Sam and Amber graduated from Kansas State University in May 2023. After graduation, Amber moved back to Kansas City to work at Vantage MedTech as a Systems Engineer. Sam moved to Wichita to work at Textron Aviation as a Structural Engineer.
Long Distance
Over the next two years, Sam and Amber traveled back and forth from Wichita to Kansas City every other weekend. During this period, Sam and Amber spent lots of hours on FaceTime watching shows, movies, and playing switch games.
Sam Moves to KC
After two years of long distance, Sam moved to Kansas City to start a job as a Mechanical Engineer at Burns and McDonnell in July of 2025. Amber and Sam packed up both of their cars to move Sam to KC!
The Proposal
Sam proposed to Amber on August 31st, 2025. Sam’s parents and sister were in town for labor day weekend and a plan was made to visit some family friends that lived in town. Sam said his family was going to be late and suggested a walk around Loose Park. Sam proposed in a small rose garden.
