During what Amber thought was just another trip to visit Nathan's parents, plans changed last minute when Nathan's parents had to go into "work" shortly before they arrived. Nathan offered to go to lunch with the extra time they had. Amber, of course, can never turn down lunch, so they made a stop at a winery for a light lunch and a glass of wine. After lunch, they still had more time to kill, so Nathan took her to her favorite winery, South River Vineyards. They ordered another glass of wine and Nathan suggested that they take a walk in the vineyards. It was an incredibly hot summer day and the vineyards we tough to walk in. Amber was so hot and sweaty, tripping over ruts in the ground, and spilling her wine all over herself in the process.Little did she know, Nathan was searching for a set of chairs that were said to be set up in the vineyards. They kept walking and walking, searching for these chairs. After a while, Amber suggested that they take a little breather in the shade. During the break, Nathan asked Amber to see her manicure that she had gotten earlier that morning. He said that it was nice, but it was "missing something"(knowing how much Amber appreciates a perfect mani, you can only imagine how she reacted. Just a little bit annoyed ;) ). Before she could really react, Nathan pulled a little box out of his pocket, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. She was shocked, thought she was dreaming for a second, then said "YES!". It was the best day of their lives up to that point, with every day after being better than the last.
