Our Wedding

Our story started in May 2012, when Graydon started working as a summer employee at the dog daycare I&nbsp;was working at.

A summer together was more than enough time&nbsp;for us to realize that there was an undeniable connection between us.&nbsp;





Fast forward to September 2012,&nbsp;&nbsp;Graydon is days away from moving back to Edmonton, and we have both accepted that despite the connection this was the end of the line for us...for about 4 days, before we decided over texts that distance wasn't going to stop us, and we were going to date.&nbsp;





April 2019 comes around, we are living together for the first time, and are celebrating easter and&nbsp;my brothers birthday. My lovely mom drops Graydon and&nbsp;I&nbsp;off to the zoo, and&nbsp;as I get out of the car&nbsp;I notice that Graydon is still in the car talking to my mom, who's face at this point looks like total shock. A few moments pass and I ask him as he leaves the car what he said to make my moms face turn, to which he responds "just making plans for your brothers birthday".





We go about our day, and the next day are at Graydon's parents for easter dinner. While watching sports in the basement, Graydon goes upstairs with his mom, a few moments later calling his brother up, and lastly calling his dad upstairs. A while later everyone returns and the night continues as normal.&nbsp;





Unbeknownst to me, Graydon had been telling our parents that he was planning to propose that summer, and was now talking to both of our moms about what kind of ring I'd like. Like the absolute gem he is, he remembers that I had made a comment about loving our close friends Paige and&nbsp;Adam's&nbsp;engagement, where Adam&nbsp;proposed with a family ring.&nbsp;





Graydon's parents find his grandparents 25 year anniversary ring, which happens to be my birthstone as well. It was on.&nbsp;





Once he had the ring, he knew he had to propose soon.





That weekend while I'm working the holiday Monday he texts and asks if we can go walk my dog Stella in Canmore after work, and I enthusiastically say yes. As we are walking along our regular path, Graydon stops me beside the river to take my photo (and if anyone of you know him, you know he doesn't take photos unless I ask him too). After managing to get my attention away from being suspicious as to why he was taking my photo, Graydon asked me to marry him.&nbsp;





Now, we all know he's a jokester, and he has made some proposal jokes by this point, so when a ring box was shown&nbsp;but a black velvet flap was folded forward in the wind covering the ring, I assumed this was a next level joke and laughed it off before saying no.. Moments later the wind shifts, the flap moves and suddenly I realize this isn't a joke, and without hesitation say yes.





In a new fashion, which we will call the Covid fashion, we'll add another fast forward.&nbsp;





Fast forward to June 2020, where we have now made the official decided&nbsp;to postpone our wedding from 2020 to 2021.One morning while having coffee on our patio&nbsp;a week into June,&nbsp;we decided to get married despite the limitations Covid had given us.&nbsp;&nbsp;Our family and closest&nbsp;friends assembled, my father in law applied to marry us, and we planned our very own Covid wedding.&nbsp;





We got married June 26, 2020 in front of 11 people in a beautiful backyard ceremony full of love and laughter.&nbsp;





Now 2 years later we are finally able to host all of our family and friends who we could not see in 2020.&nbsp;We can't wait to celebrate our 2 year anniversary with you all this summer!
