Alex and Amber's story began in 2021 when they met playing sand volleyball at Charlie's Sandbox. They played on separate teams for some time, but when there was an opening on Amber's team, Alex jumped at the opportunity to join the team and get to know her more. After playing together and growing their friendship over the course of the following year, they developed feelings for each other (without knowing how the other felt).

Alex was planning a move to Arizona in October 2022. Because of this, he wasn't sure if he was going to tell Amber how he felt, and she never planned on telling him how she felt either. However, in September, while playing in one last tournament at Charlie's together before he left, he knew he had to confess his feelings for her. Amber quickly reciprocated those feelings, and although he was moving soon, they promised each other that they would make it work. After doing a long distance relationship for six months, Alex was able to move back to Albuquerque.

Upon moving back, Alex and Amber's love grew even deeper as they enjoyed traveling stateside and abroad, adopting a new shared joy of golf, being avid moviegoers, and, of course, joining back up together on the volleyball courts!

Alex asked Amber to marry him in April 2024 at Walt Disney's EPCOT, and it was the easiest yes Amber has ever given! They look forward to their upcoming wedding in October 2025!
