Once upon a time, a guy and a gal shared an employer. The guy walked past the girl and said something funny. The girl reared her head back and let out a laugh that filled the whole call center. That was our only shared memory of our time together at RCI.
ALAS!! Mark Zuckerberg created a platform that allowed the girl to stay in touch with her workplace friends and acquaintances after she left. One day, the guy discovered that the girl had an immense fear of spiders, so he kept posting pictures of spiders on his Facebook page and tagging her.
Likewise, she discovered his fear is FEET! So she started posting pictures of heinous feet and tagging him in those photos. The teasing went back and forth and eventually, they started messaging each other on Facebook messenger to get to know each other better.
One day, after sending numerous pictures of his newly remodeled house, the guy invited the girl to his housewarming party. The girl said yes at first, but then on the day of the party, she tried to back out. She had a feeling that he liked her and she knew that she liked him. She also had a feeling that he might just be "the one." So she started to run. She messaged him on Facebook and said, "I forgot - there's a Colts game today. I can't make your housewarming party." To which the guy got mad. He responded, "I live in Indianapolis. Did you really think I'd schedule a housewarming party at the same time as a Colts game?? Never mind. Just don't come.
The gal quickly back peddled and ended up showing up at the party. They hit it off splendidly. He came to her birthday party 2 weeks later and from that point on, they spent many moments together. They were nearly inseparable.
Fast forward to January 1st, 2018 - Darren took Amber to the beach, we packed a small picnic with champagne. There were fireworks as we pulled into the parking lot. As the clock struck midnight, Darren smiled at Amber, got on one knee and asked Amber to spend the rest of their lives together. This is not the end. As the song says, "It's only just begun."
