Amber moved to New Mexico in 2019 and began work as a teacher only a few days after settling in Santa Fe. She and her two cats, Gatsby and Penelope, drove for a week, trekking cross country from Philadelphia to Santa Fe with a vacuum cleaner and several houseplants.

Amber has always felt at home in the southwest and decided to make the change and move out here without knowing anyone in this area. Six months later, the pandemic hit.

Amber considers herself very lucky to have met Jared in Albuquerque when she did. She is grateful to her friend Mariah for providing the opportunity for Amber to meet Jared (although that hadn't been the goal), and always providing the double-date opportunities while Amber and Jared's relationship was still young.

Amber enjoys reading all manner of books while cuddling the cats and sipping on hot chocolate in front of the adobe fireplace, taking the pups Yara and Ubbe on Hobbit-themed adventures, and playing tabletop games with Jared, and their friends Mariah and Ricardo. She SOMETIMES makes it to the gym with friend (AND ordained minister!) Shirlee.
