Our Wedding

Ceremony Masks (per First Mennonite Church requirements) UPDATE: The Reopening Task Force has updated face mask recommendations again based on updated CDC guidelines. Allen County’s COVID status jumped from Moderate to High Community Spread - https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view, and there is evidence that vaccinated people can acquire and spread the Delta variant. Since the CDC this week added a recommendation for vaccinated people to wear masks in indoor public settings in areas of substantial to high community spread, we will all resume wearing face masks again during worship and large gatherings. Disposable masks will be provided for wedding guests upon arrival for those needed. The outdoor reception held at our home will be optional for wearing masks based on your personal preference.

Reception Parking (Garden Club Drive) Parking will be available in the grass area on the right side of the Bluffton Garden Club Drive, located between 9944 and 9920 (N Dixie Hwy) just a house past ours! There is also parking spaces along the side of the road closer to town, with recommended spacing between our home (9956 N Dixie Hwy) and the Dairy Freeze for a short walking distance. Feel free to park bicycles to the side of our driveway, which will be reserved for specific handicap parking. Or if you prefer to walk, it is a mile from the church to our house!

Announcements

Amber and Evan met in the traditional sense, via online dating. Although they attended high school only a year apart, they had never met until their first date. Amber fell in love with Evan’s cooking, and Evan fell in love with Amber’s involvement in the community. Together, they have traveled to Utah, Tennessee, and Michigan, taking in some of nature’s most beautiful sights. Later, Amber convinced Evan to get a puppy together, who now goes by many names—Cimaroon, Cimi, and Cimi-Pupper-Bear. After three years of dating, Evan (finally) proposed on Christmas night, making Amber wait all day in suspense. Now they are both awaiting to share their special day with friends and family!

Our Story

Check-In starts at 3:00pm and Check-Out is at 11:00am. They include a free hot breakfast from 7:00am-10:00am, as well as an indoor pool (9:00am-9:00pm) and fitness center (6:00am-10:00pm). Pets are allowed, with a fee of $25 per pet, limited to 2 pets per room.

Saturday Morning Farmer's Market

We have a local fitness center, the BFR, if you want to move around. There’s also the Bluffton Community Pool, with a slide and mushroom fountain. If you’re looking for a playground, there are two parks in town, The Village Park and The Buckeye Park. You can also explore various walking paths, found at Motter Metro Park and Bluffton University Nature Preserve. One of Evan and Amber’s favorite things to do is bike around town, so bring your bikes for a ride around town and on our bike trails! And of course, one of Evan’s favorite’s, is the Bowling Alley right past our house!

Recreational Activities

Reserve a slot for a DIY workshop, making wood signs and home decor. Just make sure to leave Saturday, March 14th, free for the wedding and reception!

Board And Brush Studio

Check out a movie Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Show times are 7:00pm and 9:30pm nightly, plus 1:30pm and 4:00pm on weekends. Remember, the wedding starts at 4:30pm on Saturday!

Things to Do

Taylor and Evan have been friends since the third grade, bonding over dreams of future mustangs and performance parts. They’ve maintained their friendship over the years as they’ve both grown as people, both still making time to hang out and stay in touch (even through COVID).

Dakota has been friends with Evan since high school. They share mutual interests in cars, cutting wood, kayak fishing, and much more. Often they spend much of their time together helping one another on projects they are building or creating .

Autumn is Evan’s older sister. Their personalities were worlds apart when they were younger but over time they’ve grown far closer. Autumn lives in Florida, so visits to see her are always a pleasure.

Stephanie and Amber met freshman year of college as roommates, which began a friendship full of laughter, Chipotle, and nap parties. Although separated by distance, these friends catch up in an instant through texts, Snapchat, or FaceTime calls.

Stephanie Rheinheimer

Austin and Amber have been friends since kindergarten, bonding over building beanie-baby towers and playing soccer. They became even closer friends in high school, both involved in show choir and musicals. After returning from college, these close friends again call Bluffton home.

Austin Marquart

Hannah is Amber’s older sister, and has guided some of her biggest life choices. This began with hand-me-down cloths, soccer, and art, but lead to choosing her college at Eastern Mennonite University together. Now that they live far apart, phone calls and family visits with the dogs help keep these sisters connected.

Hannah Shelly

Aaron is Amber’s twin brother, with a shared love of hiking, soccer, and traveling. Although apart since college, Aaron’s visits home are always filled with games and laughter. Through brother-sister road trips, camping, and weekend trips to the city, Aaron adds adventure to Amber’s life.
