Our story begins as most romantic novels do, with a cheesy love quote, "love happens when you least expect it.” Both of us coming out of relationships, the idea of jumping into a relationship so quickly didn’t register. We officially met at the Perrysburg OrangeTheory Fitness in 2018, where Amber worked the evenings at the front desk and I a member of the studio.
Fast forward, October 2019, I am away on business traveling throughout Europe for 3 plus weeks. Early in my travels I had some down-time and with the help of some liquid courage, I decided to finally "shoot-my-shot" and message Amber. After being left on read; for what it felt like an eternity, Amber finally responded and for the rest of the trip, we spent countless hours getting to know one another. Even with the 6-hour time difference, we still found time each and every day to talk.
It was early on in those 3 weeks that we soon realized we had more in common than we originally thought. It was our mutual love of coffee (Amber more than I), OSU football, both being foodies and always having that travel itch to explore new places just to name a few ..
Fast forward February 2021; 2 years-worth of memories, moving into a new apartment together and navigating a global pandemic, I knew Amber was “the one.” After contemplating many different proposal ideas, I kept coming back to OrangeTheory and how without our “family” over there, our story would have not been possible. A week before Valentines Day, I had the team open up the studio just for us and I got down on one knee. She made me the happiest guy in the world and said “YES.” We then celebrated the rest of the evening with our parents at our favorite restaurant.
Fun fact: After walking Amber to her car from our first date, as she drove off, I said to myself that I would marry that girl one day.
Fast forward February 2022, with the wedding planning in full effect, moving to a new city, both of us starting new jobs, building our first home and of course spoiling our sassy drama queen of a pup (Marnie) day in a day out. Some call us crazy for taking on some many big life experiences all in a short span of time, but we couldn’t be more excited. We cannot wait for our exciting new chapter to begin as husband and wife and of course to celebrate our big day with all of our family and friends.
