Yes, love at first sight does exist!

It was a warm, sunny August day in 2012 and Amber and David had just begun their fall semester at Vance-Granville Community College. Unfortunately, things didn't quite pan out for them. Their original class choice had fallen through and they were forced to choose an alternative option at the very last minute. They both chose a computer course.

This seemingly frustrating occurrence turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to them! On the first day of class, David arrived and sat at the first available desk. After a few minutes, Amber emerged from the elevator. David immediately saw her, but was disappointed as he watched her walk down the opposite hall and disappear from sight. ...yes, she was lost!

After circling the hall, Amber finally found her way to the classroom and sat down, not without noticing the handsome guy with the adorable dimples! Amber sat in a desk parallel to him. A little part of her wished he would just look her way.

Little did Amber know, David had in fact looked her way...and he liked what he saw. The first thing he noticed about her was her smile and her high heels. Imagine that!

The next class-day rolled around and they all met in the hall to await the tardy professor. Amber began chatting with the student beside her who introduced himself and in turn conversed with David, who was standing directly across from them.

That's how it began. David and Amber sat together in class that day and chatted all the way to their cars. A facebook message, text, and phone call later, David was picking Amber up for their first date at Ruby Tuesdays where they stayed until 10pm! Amber's mom called exactly 3 times to ensure she hadn't been thrown into the lake. Anyone who knows us understands that this shouldn't be a surprise!

After completely losing track of time at Ruby Tuesdays, the couple proceeded to McDonalds to grab a milkshake before heading back to the college where the two gazed at the stars and listened to music. They didn't want the night to end!

Flash forward three years to a nature walk at John Kerr Dam in Virginia. David had been nervous all day as he anticipated proposing to Amber that evening. He remembered that she always said her favorite date was the Saturday they went for an impromptu nature walk and then to a local pizza shop for dinner and he had planned to recreate it. The ring was making a bulge in his pocket that he was sure Amber was bound to notice.

When Amber went over to inspect a turtle, David saw his opportunity and got down on one knee. Amber was so enthralled that he had to call her name three times to get her to turn around!
