April may bring sun, rain, warmth, or colder temperatures. If it all comes together, we recommend fishing, visiting the Bison viewing area, or just walking around on the trails at the Red Willow Lake that is to the North of McCook. They have a great camping area if you choose to stay in a camper rather than a hotel.

Of all the lakes in the area, this is the one we recommend. Fishing, camping, and walking are some of our favorite things to do here. We spend a lot of our summer time here on the boat, on the beach, and in the water.

Along with a beautiful disc golf course, there is a playground for the kiddos, and a walking trail with fun activities along the way!

This is the park Amberette grew up playing at the most. Living right across the street, this park got a lot of her time in her younger years. The playground equipment is the newest in the area and it is across the street from the Public Library as well.

Don't be intimidated when you see a man in a van selling candy and snocones to children. It sounds like every mom's worst nightmare, but fear not, it is just Mr. Bill. ;) He has been around for nearly 50 years and his snocones are $.25 and $.50 and he does wonderful things for the community. He has been a staple in McCook, NE for nearly two of our lifetimes!
