In 2019 Amelia had just recently come out of a 5 year relationship that did not end well and was very hard on her. After taking a few months to be alone, she reached out to some of her old friends about meeting up and hanging out again. Her best friend from high school and college reached out and invited her to a game night at her and her boyfriend's apartment. Teddy was also at that game night because Kaylyn's boyfriend, Brian was one of Teddy's bestfriends since childhood.

After the game night Teddy and Amelia stayed up late talking and laughing. They then started visiting each other and hanging out on the weekends. On Friday, December 13th Teddy asked Amelia to be his girlfriend after seeing the Christmas lights together at Lilacia park.

Fast forward to July 15, 2023. Teddy brought Amelia to one of her favorite places, the beach. As they walked down the Michigan City Beach, toward the pier, Amelia started to hear music playing. Teddy's close friend Manuel was playing the trumpet. Teddy then got down on one knee and proposed. Of course Amelia said, "Yes!" Kaylyn and Brian then ran out and had been there secretly recording the whole moment! Then in the evening Amelia was surprised again when both families joined them all in Michigan City for dinner!

On Friday, September 13th, 2024 Amelia will spend another Friday the 13th at Lilacia Park as they join their friends and family for their wedding day!
