Our Wedding

Brenden and I technically met through an app, but it wasn't Tinder! Both being new to the area- in January of 2020, we met at a Meet Up event, which is an app you can use to find events going on in your area with people of similar interests (book clubs, running groups, etc). This particular Meet Up was for a young professionals' happy hour at a bar in downtown St. Pete. I'll be honest when I say I don't remember talking to Brenden that night, other than the initial greeting! After attending a few more of these events and attempting to make friends, the pandemic hit, and we were told to gather in groups of no more than 10 people. I received a Facebook message from another guy I had met at one of the happy hours who asked if I wanted to join his friend group while we "wait out" however long this pandemic would last. As fate would have it, Brenden was also invited to this friend group. We spent the next few months doing potlucks, throwing theme parties, and just hanging out together while the world was shut down. During this time, Brenden and I started texting each other and hanging out exclusively. Our first date was making pancakes at his house for a group brunch (a 26 year old guy with a nice, updated, CLEAN house? I was very impressed!). We started kayaking, watched movies, and had date night every Friday - whether it was grilling something new or ordering takeout (as the world was still shut down at this point). We started spending more and more time together and never really stopped. Brenden became my best friend, and we moved in together in May of 2021. Since then we have built a furry family of two pups and two cats, traveled to several countries, played countless volleyball matches, and even renovated the house we currently live in. We went ring shopping together in April of last year, and Brenden proposed on December 13th, 2024 in front of the Christmas lights at the sculpture park in Gulfport with a beautiful ring that contains my Grandma Rose's diamond. We are beyond excited to finally become Mr. and Mrs. Corder!
