The Invisible String Theory says soulmates are connected long before they meet — and for us, that couldn’t be more true. When Amelia was young, her Dad filmed everything, and in one neighborhood Halloween parade video, Wyatt and his Dad can be spotted in the background. Our families had no idea that our lives were already crossing.

We officially met before sophomore year of high school at a pool party, where we spent the night talking under the stars. Amelia went home and told her Mom she had met her future husband. Life took us in different directions, with a few almost-moments, missed chances, and a lot of growing up in between. But through it all, we always found our way back to each other.

During college, Amelia drove from Oxford to Gulfport to watch Wyatt play in the Junior College National Championship game — a real “16 Candles” moment. That night marked the beginning of our forever. Loving each other from that point on was effortless, strengthened by years of friendship.

Wyatt proposed at the Ole Miss Lyceum on the third of May, in their favorite place, surrounded by family, champagne, and the sweetest surprise of all – getting to celebrate their union with their closest friends and family in the place that rekindled their love story. Amelia excitedly said YES!

Now, when they look back at old videos and realize their paths crossed long before they ever spoke, they’re reminded that fate always had a plan—an invisible string pulling them toward one another. They are building a life grounded in faith, friendship, and the promise they made to always show up for each other. Wyatt is Amelia’s biggest supporter through medical school, and she couldn’t have hand-chosen a better partner.

Our story is a reminder to trust timing, date your best friend, and believe in the things meant for you — because God’s plan is all about His timing.
