Our Story
We met at GRCC in our theater class. One day we read off a play that made me feel uncomfortable so I tried to quickly leave after class. Cameron noticed it and followed me and asked me if I was ok. I told him I was fine just uneasy. He then asked me if I’d like to go to this boba cafe down the street from campus and I said yes. We sat and talked for 2-3 hours bouncing off conversations from movies to family to video games. I told him I’ve never been on a real date before and he said that he’ll take me on a real date as a friend. He picked me up from my house with a bouquet of flowers and 2 big chocolate bars, one milk chocolate and one dark chocolate. He took me out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, took me to see the new Batman movie, and then took me out for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. After a while we both developed feelings for each other and that’s when Cameron asked me out with a note and a bouquet of flowers after I got out of class. We went on multiple dates before I had to leave to go live in Florida. I was accepted into the Disney College Program to live and work at Disney for 11 months. It was very hard on both of us to date long distance. But we persisted, he visited me at Disney multiple times for various occasions like Valentine’s Day and our 1 year anniversary. I did visit him on a surprise visit for thanksgiving. When I moved back to Michigan our relationship was stronger than ever. Even though we both had very busy work lives we still made time to spend with each other. One day Cameron asked me if I wanted to go on a dress up fancy date. He took me to our favorite local Sushi restaurant in Downtown Rockford. After our lunch date he suggested we walked around the Rockford dam. As I was looking at the water I turned around and found Cameron with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised and shocked that I was speechless. It took me awhile to say anything but then I finally said yes.
