Amelia and Cameron met by a chance encounter through the help and connection of a mutual friend (thank you, Paul). Way back in 2015 Paul Finch and Cam re-enacted the iconic pottery scene from "Ghost" and as worthy of a picture that image is in its own right, Cam never could have guessed it would be the most important picture that was ever taken in his life.

Fast forward 6 years later to the spring of 2021, a Facebook memory pops up that catches Amelia's attention, that very silly, very ridiculous picture was just the attention grabber needed to kindle this love story. Cam, who may or may not have recognized Amelia slightly but mostly just thought she was really cute, friend requested her on Facebook a few weeks prior to this memory being posted. Little did Cam know, Amelia thought the same thing and may or may not had been watching Cam's live streams of his volleyball tournaments for those few weeks since accepting the friend request. She took the opportunity to post on the picture of Paul and Cam making sweet, sweet pottery together. Cam never actually having met Amelia and having absolutely no patience texts Paul the faithful question and statement. First, "who is this Amelia girl?". And second, "I need to cook her dinner." As fate would have it, Amelia texted Paul at the same time asking similar questions about Cam. Paul, being a man of action, and a deep lover of all things that are both comically and socially uncomfortable, sends each party a screen-shots of what the other had said.

They wasted no time and immediately after Amelia and Cam had their first conversation. That conversation never really came to an end. it went on for days only interrupted by short stints to sleep and work. Even though the conversation easily flowed, Cam quickly found out that Amelia actually lived in Boston and not Syracuse like he had thought and hoped. But this did not deter this very stubborn, persistent, and silly man to say: I promise I'm not creepy, but I would actually drive to Boston just to buy you a coffee. Somehow, someway, that horrible pickup line worked.

Cam and Amelia proceeded to date long distance from Boston to Syracuse for over a year. A love story consisting of over 30 combined trips back and forth in a span of 13 months. A love story that forged new memories and adventures was unfolding before them. Right place right time began to have a whole different meaning. The distance helped them realize this was no fling. They quickly knew they found their match.

As if Cam didn't already pull off the move of the century by convincing her to date him, he doubled down and convinced her to leave the city life and move in with him in his house back in Syracuse. Cam is no dummy, and knew he had to act quickly before she wisened up. So he got to work on finding her a ring, proposing in November of 2022 and completing the first chapter of their unlikely love story. Now our new chapter begins and we are so excited to start it with our family and friends by our sides.
