We have rooms blocked off at Springhill Suites Houston Katy Mill and Hilton Garden Inn Houston West Katy, about 25 minutes from the venue. For a reduced room rate, book through the links below by March 28th (Hilton) or April 7th (Springhill).
Houston has two major airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). Both are about equidistant from the hotels and venue. If you fly Southwest, we recommend Hobby! We don’t have much experience with IAH or non-Southwest airlines.
It's technically a gas station, but really it's so much more. Eat, drink, shop, and/or use the cleanest bathrooms around while here! Sam recommends the breakfast sandwiches or barbecue sandwiches. Amelia recommends the brisket breakfast taco or the tiger butter fudge.
You can find almost anything at this Texas-sized mall! Lots of outlets, plus traditional mall stores.
Stop by Katy Asian Town for restaurants, dessert shops, tea shops, grocery stores, and more. Our favorite things to get at the H-Mart are pork belly and peeled garlic by the pound.
One of our favorite Houston museums! We especially love the Cullen Hall of Gems and Minerals and the Cockrell Butterfly Center. Show your student ID or AAA membership card for a discount on tickets!
Fantastic barbecue located in Amelia's hometown. Killen's also has locations in Cypress and the Woodlands if you'd prefer to stay north of Houston to get your barbecue fix.
The first word spoken on the moon? "Houston." Check out Space Center Houston to see real rockets, planes, a space shuttle trainer, and tons of cool space artifacts. Tour Rocket Park, Mission Control, or the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility while you're there! Plus, you may run into an astronaut or two - they work next door at Johnson Space Center.
