Our Wedding

Amy and Steven met in Chicago in late Fall of 2022. Their first date was at Beatrix in Fulton Market. Dinner and drinks went so well that it led them to ice cream at one of Amy's favorite shops, Jeni's. Time flew by... before they knew it, it was time to say goodnight. They both went in for the first kiss, and when they went their separate ways they knew each other could be the one. Shortly after, they were introduced to each other's family and friends, and on New Years Eve that year they were officially a couple. Love came sooner than either had expected, as Amy likes to say “when you know, you know”. The following year Amy and Steven moved into their first apartment together. They left the city they fell in love in to a new town they call home - Downers Grove. A few months later, after Amy's persistence, they brought home their dog, Leroy. He's been the life of every room he's been in ever since. On November 1, 2024, Amy thought she was going to Chicago to see their friend visiting from Los Angeles. Little did she know, the night would end with a diamond ring on her finger. Dinner back at Beatrix- where it all started followed shortly after. Steven reserved the same seats they originally sat in, and to his surprise, they got the same server too! The night was capped off at Damen Tavern with some of their friends in the neighborhood, and one last surprise of two dozen roses, their favorite fine chocolates, and champagne awaiting their arrival. They are beyond thrilled that they are officially going to spend the rest of their lives together, forever! They can't wait to share their special day with you in celebration!

We are honored to be married by Ryan Martin, a cherished family friend who has been part of our lives for many years. His bond with our family runs deep — he was the best friend of Amy’s brother Pat, and has remained a constant source of love, strength, and support ever since. His presence on our wedding day means the world to us, and we couldn’t imagine a more meaningful person to help us begin this next chapter of our lives together.

Welcome to Minocqua, we are so happy you made it! Did you know this was our first getaway as a couple? The Northwoods has became the perfect escape for the both of us. Here are a few of our favorite things to do when we’re not #lakelife ing it up Downtown Minocqua: •The Knotty Barrel, nestled on a bluff overlooking the serene waters of Minocqua Lake, delivers the quintessential Wisconsin supper club experience with a delightful Northwoods twist. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. • Bearskin Trail, our favorite hike, if you walk far enough.. 24 miles (please don’t, perhaps drive) you just may find our favorite ice cream spot The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe- 20 mins from Waters of Minocqua. • Torpy Park, a lakeside park with a beach, &amp; picnic areas. • The Bottled Bean, best espresso martini in town, café, great beer, bites, &amp; board game selection. • Minocqua Brewing Company, the town’s main brewery, located across the street from The Bottled Bean. • Otto’s Beer &amp; Brat Garden, live life, eat well, laugh often here. Enjoy a stein of beer or bloody in their beautiful beer garden along with great traditional German cuisine. • T. Murtaugh’s Pub, I hope you have a dollar bill- you will understand as soon as you walk in. A pint at the pub, doesn’t get much better than that. Kitty-corner from Otto’s. • Gaslight antiques &amp; shops, this quaint mall has a lot of hidden treasures inside. • The Boathouse, superb classic supper club as well as craft cocktails. Off the water of Lake Minocqua for scenic views. • The Thirsty Whale, located over the water of Lake Minocqua, setting a beautiful scene for family dining, great eats, &amp; lively nightlife. Distillery: • Northern Waters Distillery, conveniently right next to the hotel on your way into Minocqua. Nothing gives you a warmer welcome than a northern Wisconsin cocktail, cheers! Dinner: • McGregor’s Blink Bonnie Supper Club, THE Supper Club. You have to get there 2-3 hours early to tailgate (in line) for a reason, so grab your lawn chairs, a couple cold ones, &amp; wait for those doors to open. We promise you it’s worth the wait, &amp; you don’t want to be late or miss this meal. Brewery: • Rocky Reef Brewing Company, our go-to local watering hole. Good vibes &amp; cold beer, doesn’t get much better than this.

Things To Do

The Waters of Minocqua is our preferred choice when it comes to your stay here. It’s Amy’s family’s hotel away from their beloved lake house, equipped with water park fun &amp; relaxation. It’s minutes away from the winding down town of Minocqua, giving you just the right amount of space away to enjoy moments at the hotel or discovering one of Wisconsin’s most tourist towns. Minocqua, Wisconsin, is a charming town in the Northwoods region, known as the “Island City” because it is situated on a peninsula surrounded by lakes. It is a popular year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts, families, and those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of northern Wisconsin. To make transportation to &amp; from our wedding venue as seamless as possible, we are providing a shuttle service from The Waters of Minocqua specifically. If you’d like to use the shuttle please let us know no later than 07.14.2025. Kindly include your preference in your RSVP with the number of guests who will be riding. This is the closet airport for those near who don’t feel up for the roadtrip but more so for all of our far guests flying in from a further distance.•	Distance: ~30 miles (40 minutes) from Minocqua	•	Details: The closest airport to Minocqua, offering limited regional flights primarily through Delta Air Lines (connecting via Minneapolis-St. Paul &amp; direct flights from Chicago- O’Hare)	•	Ideal For: Guests coming from major hubs via connecting flights.

Rhinelander–Oneida County Airport

This offers more options than Rhinelander’s airport &amp; is the 2nd closet airport from Minocqua.	•	Distance: ~90 miles (1.5 hours) from Minocqua	•	Details: Offers more flight options than RHI, with service from Delta, United, and American Airlines.	•	Ideal For: Guests who want more flexibility and affordable flight options.

Central Wisconsin Airport

•	Distance: ~140 miles (2.5 hours) from Minocqua	•	Details: A mid-sized airport with more airlines and direct flights from several major cities.	•	Ideal For: Guests coming from larger metropolitan areas.

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport

•Distance: ~180 miles (~3.5 hours) from Minocqua.	•	Details:	•	Serves multiple airlines, including Delta, United, and American, offering flights to and from major hubs like Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas.	•	Smaller and less crowded than larger airports like Milwaukee or Minneapolis, making it convenient for travelers.	•	Plenty of car rental options for the drive to Minocqua. Ideal For:	•	Guests who prefer a smaller airport with easy navigation.	•	Those traveling from Midwest locations or connecting through nearby hubs. While it’s slightly farther than Rhinelander or Central Wisconsin airports, Madison is a great option for guests who may already be visiting the capital city or want a manageable drive to Minocqua through scenic Wisconsin landscapes. Less miles than Milwaukee &amp; St. Paul.

•	Distance: ~220 miles (4 hours) from Minocqua	•	Details: A major international airport with numerous flight options, often more affordable for long-distance travelers.	•	Ideal For: Guests traveling internationally or from distant locations who need a larger airport with more direct flights.

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport

•	Distance: ~230 miles (4 hours) from Minocqua	•	Details: Another major airport offering extensive domestic and international connections.	•	Ideal For: Guests who prefer driving through scenic Wisconsin after flying.
