Our Wedding

Amy and Matt both attended the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Matt attended from 2011 - 2015 and Amy 2012 - 2016. They both knew who each other were since it was a fairly small college, but they never officially met during their time there. Only seeing each other in passing at the dining hall but never meeting in person. Fast forward to January of 2020, Matt reached out to Amy after noticing she was tagged in a Facebook post with the location in Virginia. They started talking and getting to know each other, only to realize they were currently living 20 minutes away from each other in Virginia, went to the same college in Connecticut, and both grew up in Bergen County in New Jersey. Their entire lives, they were always just 20 minutes away from each other and they didn't even know it, tied together by an "invisible string". They had their first date at a local brewery in Virginia that lasted nearly 7 hours (seriously!) and continued to get to know each other better for the next 3 years. On October 1st 2023, Matt tricked Amy into thinking they would spend a Fall day at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA followed by a winery with their friends. (Amy is easily persuaded by a fun Fall day with wine involved) A surprise picnic was set up and Matt proposed to Amy, asking for her hand in marriage. They enjoyed the picnic in the park and indeed still went to the winery after to celebrate!

Wedding Day Shuttles

Shuttle buses will transport guests from the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites to the venue. Shuttle buses will arrive at both hotels at 4:30pm. The shuttles will depart from the venue at 11:00pm to bring guests back to the hotels. Guests are still welcome to utilize the shuttles even if not staying at one of the hotel room blocks. Ride share services can drop off at either hotels to use the shuttles. Please note the hotel check in times in relation to shuttle schedule if planning to arrive on Saturday.

Check out downtown historic Leesburg and enjoy all the different restaurants, breweries, cafés, shops and all the history Leesburg has to offer! Just 6 minutes down the road from the hotels! There are several parking lots and garages nearby the shops.

Leesburg Historic District

Explore the cute little shops in downtown historic Leesburg and stop by Mom's Apple Pie Bakery for delicious pies and baked goods. Our favorite is the coconut cream pie!

Bluemont Vineyard is one of our favorite wineries! You can't beat the panoramic picturesque views nestled on the first ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains while you sip on delicious wine in Northern Virginia's wine country.

Just down the road from Bluemont Vineyard, Dirt Farm Brewing also boasts gorgeous views at the top of the mountain and offers a variety of different beers.

One of our favorite wineries in Leesburg to check out. We love the wines here and went to this winery right after Matt proposed to celebrate! They have a lot of great food options and delicious pizzas.

Stone Tower Winery

We love this winery for their monthly themes that match small bites to their wines. Every month is a different theme based off of a movie or TV show. September is Amy and Matts favorite month to go as it is usually Harry Potter themed!

Another great brewery that offers a variety of different beers and lots of different foods and shareable snacks.
