How We MetWe first crossed paths in 2022 on a flight from Orlando to Chicago — though the story really starts in the boarding area. Just before the flight, I (the groom) had performed CPR on an infant. Thankfully, the baby was okay, but I boarded feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained.That’s when I met Amy.During our crew briefing, I mentioned what had just happened. Amy immediately offered comfort, calm, and a sense of humor that lifted my spirits when I needed it most. She had me laughing before takeoff — something I never expected that day — and I knew right away there was something different about her… and yes, I noticed how beautiful she was, too.After the flight, I worked up the nerve to ask for her number — and got (politely) turned down. Turns out, she had a boyfriend!Fast forward over a year later, the stars finally aligned. We went out for what was supposed to be a casual drink… and it turned into one of the best days of my life. From that moment on, I knew she was the one.The ProposalTo celebrate what Amy&nbsp;thought&nbsp;was my mom’s 70th birthday (and our one-year anniversary), we planned a trip to Rochester, NY. What she didn’t know was that both of our families — were secretly in on a much bigger surprise.We set off on a wine tour through the beautiful Finger Lakes region. (Fun fact: Amy is famously slow at getting ready, so we were running behind — and I was stress-chugging wine flights at the first stop just to stay on schedule.)Our next stop was Three Brothers Wineries on Seneca Lake, where our families were hidden and waiting.I handed Amy a glass of champagne, got the final text that everyone was in place, and dropped to one knee. Out of sheer nerves, the first words out of my mouth were:“You had no idea this was happening, did you?”She stood there in total shock… and then I asked the real question. She said YES — first to the champagne, then to forever.We Can’t Wait to Celebrate!We’re so excited to share this next chapter of our lives with all of you — our favorite people. Get ready for happy tears, lots of dancing, full glasses, and a night (or weekend!) we’ll never forget.
