As is the trend this day and age, Amy and Tony met through match.com. Their first date was on November 21, 2020, as we were thick in the pandemic, at Revival Social Club in downtown York. Amy complimented Tony on his amazing silver belt buckle, and Tony was pleased that Amy agreed to sit outside on the sidewalk. Needless to say, that date was successful, and the rest is history.
On December 31, 2021, a trash truck slammed into Tony's apartment (yes, it's really true), and he had to stay at Amy's house for more than a week until it was safe to go back home. When that stay was over, Amy was disappointed that he wasn't staying longer, and they decided it might be time to move in together. So in April 2022, they moved into a townhome together in Spring Grove, PA.
Always up for an adventure, Amy and Tony enjoyed vising cities like Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, exploring what they had to offer, especially ethnic restaurants. Always up for a good meal, the two frequently traveled a good distance if good food was at the destination, if it were crabs by the Chesapeake Bay or pizza 90 minutes from home. Tony, a patient teacher, introduced Amy to pool, and they have enjoyed many afternoons and evenings at Red Rose and Finley's playing games of pool. Speaking of pool, they also enjoyed weekend afternoons at a different type of pool--the swimming variety.
On December 2, 2023, Amy and Tony were staying at the Yorktowne Hotel in downtown York, PA to celebrate Tony's birthday weekend. They enjoyed dinner at Rockfish Public House, and then went to Timeline Arcade to play pinball and pool. After that, they went up to the rooftop bar at the Yorktowne. Amy loves the view of the courthouse domes from the roof, so Tony invited Amy to come over to the railing to look at the beautiful view. He then got down on one knee and proposed to Amy. She said yes! And that is how we got to where we are today.
