Kris and Amy met through their best friends (who are now married), Katie and Jason Sheppard. When attending a small get together (read: party) at Amy's house, Amy was not impressed that Kris decided to change the music she was playing on her iPod. Regardless, they quickly hit it off. They started dating after Amy moved home from University, and they bonded over their love of music, family and craft beer.
