Our story began in an unusual place: behind the bar.
We first met as coworkers at Old Chicago — one of us serving drinks, the other handling the chaos of a busy shift. We didn't know it at the time, but those long nights spent working together, sharing quick conversations in between orders, and laughing through the hustle and bustle were the moments that would lay the foundation for something truly special.
Quickly becoming friends through drinks after work, we shared laughs, swapped stories, and supported each other through the ups and downs of life. As friends, we learned about each other’s quirks, dreams, and passions.
As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, it was clear to one of them, that this wasn't just a friendship — it was something more. However, the timing was not right.
However, that did not stop Amy and David from growing their relationship. From grabbing drinks after work, talking effortlessly for hours, and playing board games till late hours of the night, there was an undeniable chemistry between them.
A few months later, on Amy's 26th birthday, there was no denying that the spark that had always been there grew into something deeper, something they couldn't ignore.
From there, everything seemed to fall into place. They continued to work side by side, but now were more than just coworkers. They learned how to navigate both their professional and personal lives, and what once seemed like an impossible balancing act became something they both cherished.
Eventually, David proposed, and they realized that their story—one that began with the clink of glasses and laughter over a shared shift—was only just beginning.
We’re so grateful for the job that brought us together, the countless memories we’ve created behind the bar, and the love that’s blossomed from it all. Our story is proof that sometimes, the best relationships are built on a solid friendship. We can’t wait to continue our adventure together as we marry the love of our life and our best friend.
