When should I arrive?
We are planning to have everyone arrive the weekend of July 6th so as early as Friday July 5th to Sunday July 7th. If you are planning to arrive any earlier or later please let us know. We have festivities planned throughout the whole week starting on Sunday the 7th!
When should I leave?
We are expecting people will leave the weekend of the 13th so Saturday the 13th or Sunday the 14th. However, you are in no rush and we imagine some people will stay to explore the country and make a trip out of it.
With the way flights from Europe back to the USA work, you should expect to arrive in the USA the same day that you fly out of Norway.
What is happening the week of the wedding?
All kinds of festivities! From group dinners, to exploring the local town, to swimming in the ocean/lakes, going on walks around the island, and much more. What if I can't make it to the wedding?
You will not be forgiven....just kidding! Flying to Norway for a destination wedding is no walk in the park, and we understand that. Timing, effort, finances, logistics, and so much more are all considerable factors that go into deciding whether or not one can make it to a destination wedding. If one of those factors prevent you from attending that is completely understandable and we will miss you. All we ask is that you visit us one day when we move there in the future!
"What will the food situation be while I stay in Norway?"
If you are visiting from the USA and are provided housing, you will need to go to the local grocery store and purchase your own groceries. In addition, we will make a restaurant recommendations list.
There will also be some family and friend meals throughout the week where we will gather and eat together.
Everyone sharing housing will be put into contact and are encouraged to coordinate food and meals throughout the week.
All our family will be staying on a part of the island called Skare, where Amy's family lives. It is roughly a 2 mile drive to the grocery store.
All our friends will be staying on a part of the island called Øyna, which is a 15 minute drive or 3mile walk / bike ride from the rest of the family and a 4 mile drive to the grocery store.

Where can I get a rental car?
The two closest airports to Amy's family/the island is Oslo Airport (OSL), the capital of Norway and 3.5 hours north of the island, or Kristiansand (KRS), a local airport about an hour south of the island. You can get a rental car at either of these airports OR you can get a rental car in the local town of Arendal, there are a couple options there as well.
What if I land in Norway before or after the person who is picking up the rental car?
We definitely recommend coordinating with whoever you plan to rent a car with. If you land before or after the person who is picking up the rental car, try and figure out a schedule that works best between everyone who is sharing the rental car. If you're running into any obstacles about coordinating with someone with a rental car please contact Henry or Amy.
Am I going to have fun?
No....just kidding. Yes! It will be an exciting, meaningful, wholesome, and memorable week that we are so honored to have you all experience with us. We can't wait to see you all in July.
