Welcome to Our Story

Our Story begins way back in 2006. Amy just started working at Angelhaus on the overnight shift and Jeremy worked evening shift. We attended opposite colleges at the time and Jeremy was working mostly with people from his school and I would just chat a little in passing. Summer came and the fair was in town which meant concerts!! A group of students from work were planning to go as a group to them. Jeremy asked me if I would like to join them to which I eventually agreed. He said he would pick me up on his way. My parents happened to be visiting me in town and my mom helped straighten my hair, we chatted about this boy that was picking me up. He arrived and off we went. We met up with the other co-workers in the grandstand and they were talking to him and not me, he promptly said let's get out of here and we went down to stand by the VIP area. It was at that point that I knew Jeremy was an amazing person to stand up for me like no one had before. After that, we hung out more and more, and when he finally turned 21, we went to the bar together with our friends for the first time. It was always so much fun to dance and party with him. I graduated and moved back to MN while Jeremy finished his schooling in SD. We remained good friends but did not see each other as much. Jeremy finished his nursing school and moved back to AK. We did not talk as much for quite a few years but would check in a few times a year to catch up. In late 2017, life got interesting and Jeremy sent a message to Amy that would rekindle that amazing friendship we had back in college. In 2018, Amy started visiting Jeremy in AK every few months which led to applying and accepting a nursing contract with the Army hospital nearby. She moved in with the Hageman's and had a fantastic experience. When the contract was done, she moved back to Fargo, ND to continue working at Sanford and soon decided to accept a Civilian position back up in AK. There was a grand plan in place to pack up and drive up the ALCAN with her dad and experience all Alaska has to offer. Well in April of 2020, COVID changed all those plans and Amy flew up to Alaska with a couple suitcases and a big prayer. Jeremy was there at the airport to pick me up and drive me "home". For the next 2 years, our friendship continued to grow and in September of 2021, we made a big leap and bought a house. The weekend we were moving in, Alaska decided it would be a nice warm welcome to home ownership to drop a couple inches of snow on us. We settled into our home pretty easily. On January 8th, 2022, Amy headed over to the Hageman house where the chiropractor was coming. Sandy and I were sitting talking awaiting his arrival and Jeremy kept texting asking if the doctor was there yet and who was being adjusted first. Then asked to let him know when I would be headed home. I was thinking he wanted me to stop and pick something up on the way home. I messaged that I was leaving and to let me know if he wanted anything. His reply was "No". I arrived home, backed my car into the garage and slowly made my way into the house. It was a weird feeling because the house was dark, and it felt like no one was home. That was really odd because we had a 4-month-old puppy and our other dog but they also were nowhere. I continued through the house and opened the double doors to the master bedroom where I was quickly greeted by the two dogs running out and Jeremy on his knee in a room lit by candles holding a ring in the box and asked me to marry him. I said yes and then noticed that the dogs had bandanas on asking "Will you marry my dad?" It was very sweet. Now here we are planning our big day, about 18 years later than I had predicted, this goes to show, no matter where life took us, this was always meant to be! We are excited to continue our story and see where life leads to next!
