I'll start our story with a special shoutout to Bumble's 150 mile radius option. Shaun claims he didn't make that selection but is sure glad he did. We matched in April 2022 and chatted here and there through the app and eventually text message. We talked about meeting in person, and I'd say Shaun was dragging his feet a bit saying, "Oh, we'll make it work some time." And one FaceTime call 3 months later, we knew we needed to meet in person. Why not the upcoming weekend? I had plans to go see Bruce, Purdue's piano man, play a show that Saturday night after my nephew's birthday party. If he wanted to meet me the same day he meets my parents and twin sister, by all means! And to everyone's surprise, he made his way to Indy...Brave guy!

The rest is history, but let's take you to November 4, 2023 to what I thought was Shaun's nephew's birthday party. We walked up to Shaun's parents' door to find a letter written by Shaun with a frame full of pictures of the two of us. I was overcome with emotion knowing exactly what was happening. We then walked in the door to immediately see his aunt and uncle and so many Louisville friends. Cue more tears. I walk around the corner and see a group of my Indy friends too. They made the trip! More tears if that's possible. The next "station" was full of our siblings and their spouses and kids. That was a special moment I will never forget. As we make our way downstairs, I see my parents and his and was increasingly emotional. Shaun got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and an instant "ABSOULTELY!" came out. Shaun wrote heartfelt letters at each "station" that paired with a frame of several pictures of the two of us. What a sweet gesture added to the best day of our lives!
