(as dictated by Kurt, with adaptations from Amy)

This love story begins as most modern fairy tales do, on the internet. Amy and Kurt met on a dating app. Twice actually. (According to Kurt) The first time they were matched, Amy never responded to Kurt’s handsome and charismatic attempts to spark a conversation and the case was left cold. (A point contested to this day. Amy maintains they only matched once).

A few months later, they "rematched" on the same dating app and the conversation started rather quickly. Kurt shared information about the hundreds of hobbies he has. Amy shared information about her dog, Willow. (likely very true) Eventually they decided to meet up at a cafe. Unfortunately, dogs were not allowed. The first date was at JAM Parkside; a cafe next to the Buffalo Zoo. Kurt arrived first and couldn't wait for Amy to order a coffee because addiction is a reality. Kurt waited patiently for Amy who was parking 7 blocks away. (this is not an exaggeration, Amy does not drive in the city often, or ever) Eventually Amy arrived; she was sure to order and pay for her own beverage, a chai latte. Maybe this was because Kurt had already, rudely, purchased his own beverage OR because she was a strong independent woman who didn't need a man to buy her what she wanted. (both true) They sat outside across from the zoo. Kurt was scorching hot (temperature wise) because he wore jeans and long sleeves (on a summer date). He also chose the seat that was in direct sunlight. What a gentleman. Amy insisted that he admit he was warm and that they should swap seats. Kurt was just happy to be there. (Kurt, noticeably sweating was infuriatingly stubborn and insisted that he was NOT warm at all- in fact, he insisted, he LOVED sitting in the sun and chose the seat on purpose. For the record, Amy did not believe him.) The conversation was mainly Willow focused with bits of discussing relationships and what each person was looking for. (objection- Amy willingly and consciously exercised a respectable level of self constraint when it came to Willow references on the first date)

As it turns out, they both had a very pragmatic approach to dating and it seemed to be a match. While it would be very romantic to say that they fell head over heels for each other on that very first date, that would just be a lie. This relationship came to fruition like a fine wine; patience and time! Amy and Kurt met each other again the very next week and every week following after that.

As their relationship grew, they became inseparable. Kurt met Willow. Amy met Amelia. They all began to shift into a happy family unit. (Willow eventually conceded to the fact that Kurt wasn't going away) Their engagement was much like their first date; Honest conversation and methodic planning. Amy even wanted to pick out the ring herself! She didn't need no man to decide what was going on her finger for the rest of her life! (Edit: Amy wanted the entire process to be a shared and mutual decision between two people equally entering into a lifelong commitment together, but yes, she didn't trust Kurt's eye for jewelry design)

And the rest, is history. . .
