Joe and Amy met on November 3rd, 2018 at an East Carolina University football game. After some encouragement from mutual friends, Joe messaged Amy and they quickly hit it off. Their love persevered through long distance and handwritten letters while Joe was away for Army training. On June 17th, 2023, Joe told Amy that he got her "something to wear for good luck" on her upcoming exam, when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The ring has surely brought the two good luck, as they moved into their first home together on November 3rd, 2023, exactly 5 years from the day they met.

The couple decided to officially wed on August 12, 2023 in a private beach ceremony in North Topsail, NC. Although the two have already shared their vows, they still want to celebrate their love and commitment to each other with their family and friends.

March 1st, 2025 will be 6 years, exactly, since Joe asked Amy to be his girlfriend.
