If you know me, you know that our story is one of my favorite things to share and Matthew Hans is my favorite person to tell everyone about how much I adore and love him!

I can now admit that my mom was right about 2 things... "When you know, you'll know." and "God will send them to you when you're least expecting it". Well I had been praying for my future husband for some time but was not searching or looking for him. Little did I know one of my best friends, Afton, was praying for that same thing for me! Haha She had confidence that the man I was praying for was out there and if anyone was going to take action to find him, Afton would!

On November 7th, 2020 Matt was at the same party as Afton and her husband Zac. To this day I have no idea how she knew; but she just had a feeling that she needed to talk to this stranger across the room. Her opening line: “hey…are you single?” To which Matt responded with a simple “yes.” Instead of being cavalier/nonchalant and dropping a hint about her single friend, she dove right in. She blurted out “I think you’re going to marry my best friend. Want to see a picture of her??” Matt admitted that he was convinced he had no chance with me but thank goodness he decided to shoot his shot anyway :)

I had never been set up on a date in such a random and unexpected way but I was too nervous to go on the first date alone! I figured since Afton initiated it, I needed her to be my wingman our first date so she did!! After walking up to the table to see this handsome man with such a big smile, it was immediate butterflies and an energy that I had never felt and that is when I knew. This is what my mom always told me about... He was the ONE!

Two days later we had to see each other again and stayed up until 4am just talking. I texted all my friends after I got home that night saying I found my future husband!!!

If I can give one piece of advice from our story it is this: When you know, you know. So wait for that feeling!!! God delivered someone I never could have dreamed of. His plan is bigger and better than even our wildest dreams!

It is going to be the BEST DAY EVER!
