Just a hop, skip and a jump down the road from The Strathallan is the George Eastman Museum. A Rochester Staple! We love walking around the Eastman house at Christmas time for the Gingerbread Display but it’s beautiful year round!
The George Eastman House also has a large photography collection and display of old Kodak cameras. They are the world's oldest museum dedicated to photography and one of the world's oldest film archives!
Java’s is a cool coffee shop open early mornings to late night. Tucked right on Gibbs Street, this quirky, laid-back spot serves up more than just great coffee—it’s a whole vibe. Whether you're grabbing a perfectly brewed espresso, a velvety latte, or one of their famous pastries, every visit feels like a little caffeine-filled escape. The eclectic decor and friendly baristas make it the perfect place to chill. During our clerkship, we loved to grab coffees there before heading to work! You’ll quickly see why it’s a neighborhood favorite!
Nestled just a block away from the Strathallan, the Park Avenue neighborhood is a vibrant and charming area known for its lively atmosphere and mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment. The neighborhood is also home to some of the best restaurants and bars in the area, including our top picks, Roux for an elevated dining experience and Vern’s for delicious comfort food in a relaxed setting. Whether you’re looking for a casual bite or a night out with friends, Park Avenue has something to offer everyone.
