Q + A
Why North Carolina?
Mark and Amy have lived in Missouri, Illinois, California, DC, and Virginia in the past 7 years. They also have loved ones in Wisconsin, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, Indiana, Maryland, California, Virginia, Colorado, and even Europe! It was impossible to find a place where no one would have to travel! Our wedding will be in North Carolina where Amy's parents live. Wilmington has an adorable historic southern charm with non-big city price tags. Plus, while you are here you can spend some time at the beach!
Thank you for considering traveling to celebrate us; it means so much to us.
Why get married on a Sunday?
Traditional Jewish weddings are held on a Sunday to avoid overlapping with Shabbat. Our wedding will be officiated by a Rabbi. We invite our guests to observe a day of rest the Saturday before our wedding day.
Is there a wedding party?
Being a groomsman and bridesmaid is time-consuming, expensive, and stressful. Since you are all so important to us, we want you to take a break, relax and enjoy yourself! However, we have roped in our family members and our dog to support us on our special day!
Will there be alcohol?
As many of our guests are sober, we will offer plenty of mocktails and non-alcoholic beverages in addition to wine and beer. We aim to make our wedding not centered around alcohol in support of all our sober loved ones.
Are kids allowed?
We love your little ones! If you would like to bring your children, they are more than welcome. However, if you want a night off from parental duties, hire a baby sitter and come party!
Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that phones be put away during our ceremony portion. We have hired a wonderful photographer and talented videographer to do what our iphones cannot!
