Things to Do

Coors Brewery Tour

13th Street & Ford Street, Golden, CO 80401, USA

This is a must if you are in Golden! The birthplace, and ONLY place in the world where Coors Golden (the banquet beer) is brewed. The entire experience is FREE and begins with a short but informative shuttle tour of downtown Golden, followed by a walking brewery tour. The adventure concludes with five generous samples of delicious beers brewed on site!

Website

Lookout Mountain Park

987 Lookout Mountain Rd, Golden, CO 80401, USA

Home to the most scenic views in the greater Denver area. Make the 15 minute drive to the top to enjoy the beautiful, panoramic views of the foothills and the Denver metro area.

Buffalo Bill's Grave

987 Lookout Mountain Rd, Golden, CO 80401, USA

Since you've taken the scenic and fun drive to the top of Lookout Mountain (see above), make the stop at the top to visit the burial site of one of the West's most beloved frontiersmen. Stay and have a bit of fresh fudge or the delicious bison chili. As an added bonus, ask Dave to reenact his 5th grade presentation on Buffalo Bill!

Rocky Mountain National Park

Colorado 80517, USA

This park covers 415 square miles. It's truly a magnificent natural masterpiece.

New Belgium Brewing Company

500 Linden St, Fort Collins, CO 80524, USA
1-888-NBB-4044

It's a bit of a drive to this brewery but it is so worth the trip. New Belgium Brewing is the home of Fat Tire and Ranger IPA, and is perhaps the best independent craft beer brewery in the USA. The tour is fun, interactive, FREE, and includes generous samples of beer. However, these tours require a reservation and they fill up VERY quickly so be sure to book early!

Breckenridge, CO, United States

Breckenridge is one of our favorite places to visit in Colorado. This would be an excellent option for a day excursion. The drive alone makes the trip worth it. From Golden, jump on 470 E. Take this to 285 south. Explore the beauty of Kenosha Pass. Take some time to stretch your legs in Fairplay (the town South Park is based on!). Visit the South Park City Museum (a really cool restored 1880's town). After leaving Fairplay, stop by Hoosier Pass for a great photo op. Watch out for the steep and curvy switchbacks as you approach Breckenridge! On your way back from Breckenridge, take I-70 back into Golden for some different but equally as beautiful scenery. Look up and you will likely see mountain goats along the side of the road!
