Chris and Amy met on Match.com in September of 2021. Amy liked Chris' profile immediately (his sweet smile and Covid haircut charmed her) while Chris took almost two weeks to reply. : ) Regardless of his delay, Amy was charmed by his sweet words on his profile "I want to be someone to somebody," and agreed to a first date for lunch at Greenes Pour House in downtown Neenah. When Chris saw Amy, he stopped in his tracks and stared. Amy thought something was really wrong with him but later he confessed that he dreamed of dating a freckled red-headed mermaid and just found her. He was super brave during lunch even being attacked by bees. Bees have since become a beloved reminder of their first date. They ended the date walking along Lake Shore Drive and sitting on a bench behind Amy's museum (Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass).

Their love grew as Chris was determined to share all of Wisconsin's beauty with Amy (a newcomer to the state). They picked lavender, apples, cherries, sunflowers, he introduced her to Door County, Milwaukee , waterfalls and lots of spots in between. Their adventures have continued to Jamaica, and across the US to meet family and friends. Chris got to know Amy's kids-Aidan and Camille while Amy became close to Chris' kiddos Ewan and Abby. On Valentines Day, 2023 Chris proposed to Amy at their third date site, Wequiock Falls near Door County where he put a lock on the famous bridge with their initials on it. Amy said "YES!!" immediately.

They can't wait to share their wedding day with family and friends at North Shore Golf Club. Amy and Chris always wanted to get married by the water (as he knows that Amy is a mermaid).
