West End is a salvage, restoration, custom furniture, coffee shop, and event center all in one. Their inventory of goods is sourced frequently from near and far to ensure each visit is just as unique as the last! The one-of-a-kind, classically appealing items available at West End can be found just about everywhere, but they offer a central location for your salvage needs with an eclectic energy you cannot find anywhere else.


Their coffee shop caters many classic coffee options, but doubles as a full-service bar that service cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for the non-coffee drinkers in your life. Grab a drink and wander around the 4-floor historic building. Get lost in time discovering old relics, new refurbished furniture, and old fixtures you forgot even existed.

The Iowa Taproom supports the growing tradition of diversity, creativity and excellence in Iowa beer. They also celebrate all of Iowa, from the farms to small towns and larger cities. They salute the famous Iowa work ethic and seek to honor our state’s heritage through reuse of historic materials in our décor, including an 1880s bar-top salvaged from a bar in Jewell, reclaimed barn wood, historic signs, grain bins, machinery parts, salvaged furniture and more.

Pappajohn Sculpture Park

This accessible setting, coupled with the skilled landscape design and caliber of the art, makes it unlike any other sculpture park in the United States.

The 4.4 acre park, located within a major crossroads of the urban grid, creates a pedestrian-friendly entryway to downtown Des Moines. The Pappajohns’ contribution of more than 30 works for the park is the most significant donation of artwork ever made to the Des Moines Art Center. Since the park opened in 2009, it has become a gathering space for the Des Moines Metro community, a beacon for both tourists and residents.

The Market takes place every Saturday, May through October, from 7 a.m. - Noon in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines.
