Our Wedding

We met in August, 2020 on a scuba diving trip to Cozumel, Mexico. We got to know each other during a three-day class to get our Advanced Open Water certification. From there, we stayed in contact and became good friends at a distance. Sean lived in Colorado and Amy in Indiana.

Just Friends!

In February, 2021, Sean talked Amy into going on a Singledivers trip back to Cozumel. The Director (Owner) Kamala, called each of us asking of we'd be willing to be roommates as there was not an even number of men and women. We agreed as we already were friends. Amy let Sean know that she required two-thirds of the bathroom sink and the toilet seat must ALWAYS remain down! Sean agreed and the week began. We remained JUST roommates that entire week. Neither one making any kind of move towards something more. That was, until the last night on the island. The closest we got to something more than roomies, was a picture at sunset. We both traveled the next day back to our own states.

Just Roommates!

Two days after that fateful trip.... a text arrived on Sean's phone, "Why didn't you kiss me at the airport?" A very long phone call later and we decided to make a go of it. We traveled back and forth and finally decided to spend a month in Cozumel at an AirBNB. Upon returning to the states, Sean sold his home and moved to Indiana.

Sean surprised Amy on October 1, 2021!! Not only did he pop the question, he planned a surprise engagement party! Amy created a video of the event. Click the link below to view it.

Flying to Chicago

Guests who choose to drive to the wedding should be aware there is a cost for parking. The Royal Sonesta provides valet parking for $75/night with in- and out- privileges. Self-parking is available at 52 East Lake Street, two blocks south of the hotel, for $53/night with in- and out- privileges.

Driving to Chicago

The couple has reserved a block of rooms for their guests at special rates: Single = $259Double = $259Triple = $309The hotel does not guarantee specific room type availability, but will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests. To make reservations, use the website link below to get the above rates. RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BEFORE AUGUST 16, 2023. Any rooms left will be released for the hotel's other guests.
